Nancy Holder
Hello! I was one of the first members of HWA back when Joe and Karen Lansdale and Robert R. "Rick" McCammon first organized H.O.W.L. I have served terms as the HWA Vice President after the untimely death of Rocky Wood, as well as on the Board of Trustees. I am a New York Times bestselling author and I have received 6 Bram Stoker Awards. I was named Grand Master in 2019 by the International Association of Media Tie-In Writers, and have received a Scribe Award for Best Novel from the group as well. I have written many novels, short stories, essays, and articles about a range of topics, and I'm currently writing two supernatural noir and vampire comic series/graphic novels with Alan Philipson, which we have sold but publishing details have not yet been announced by our publishers. We've also sold fiction to the Kolchak 50th Anniversary project as well as Kolchak/Green Hornet fiction. I taught in the Stonecoast MFA in Creative Writing program for 13 years, and recently retired. I am a Baker Street Irregular, and have co-edited Sherlock Holmes of Baking Street with Margie Deck. I have also written patisches, essays, and scholarly articles about Sherlock Holmes and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Margie Deck and I are editing the forthcoming The Terror of Blue John Gap Project, centered on an autograph manuscript of a Conan Doyle short story owned by Dartmouth College. I've edited many anthologies and developed novels for other writers. I'm known for writing material for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Teen Wolf, and many other TV shows, and have novelized films such as Crimson Peak and Wonder Woman. I know a lot about Mary Shelley and Edgar Allan Poe.
